Things to Do This Weekend

Since I have oodles of time off this December (a product of work-a-holic-ness the other 11 months), Porter and I decided that it would be best to spend a tiny bit of that time not working in...Paris.  So, we're popping over for a long weekend, staying in Le Marais and seeking out loads of taxidermy that is absolutely illegal to bring back to the States (it's nice when international law helps curb shopping urges -- that and exchange rates).  We will look, but not touch at Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature (above).

Ditto at Deyrolle...

Hopefully buy loads of small things at Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen...

...and maybe even spring for a bauble or two at La Fille du Pirate.  So, so, so excited!

Oh, how I would love to pop over to Paris for a weekend... have a fabulous time.
And I equally feel the pain of the laws preventing taxidermy import into Australia - our native animals are no where near as chic as a plump stuffed zebra!

  2. Unknown says:

Apparently taxidermy is breaking out everywhere in France, if you can't have the real thing get a photo, see:
'Marc Cellier's intriguing photographs of taxidermied animals posed in rural French towns resonated with collectors at Paris Photo this year: seven prints sold for €1,500 ($2,000) each on the very first day of the fair...."

  3. jones says:

I'm a wee bit jealous. Have a fantastic time. Europe (any destination) is great in December.

  4. So, so, so jealous! Have a great journey!

  5. Mairgance says:

Dire qu'un des meilleurs taxidermistes du museum part bientôt à la retraite ! Stéphane
