ShakeIt Street Fashion | Biker Jacket

Porter and I have been rabidly searching for appropriate outerwear for our Prague trip.  I was coming up short, so I stole her vintage bomber jacket and we set out to find her something new in the biker/aviator realm.  After ample due diligence across all non-gut-wrenching-price point stores, we found this baby at...(shhhhhh) American Eagle.  The leather, which is soft and supple as can be, actually came much lighter than this, but after a few coats of brown Kiwi shoe polish, it's looking almost Earhart-esque.  The glasses were $10 on the street.

(I realize it's not really street fashion when you take a photo of your sister/roommate sitting in a cafe, but go with it).

I thought nothing could ever make me shop at AE ... until this.

The shoe polish is a stroke of genius.

  2. We were very much in the same camp. There are actually quite a few great sweaters at....Abercrombie! We couldn't stay in the store, though, due to the overwhelming Woods bomb that exacerbated the previously abating hangovers we both were nursing. The NY flagship and the new Hollister (my name, my name!) on Broadway are two of the most retail frightening experiences anyone over 25 can try to live through.

  3. oh my -- frightening retail experiences...not retail frightening experiences...

However, now that I read it, I'm liking the latter more and more...

  4. You have taken the jacket to a new level with your Earhart polish. You also have the best model for your blog. G.

  7. Hankering for those glasses myself...I suppose they could be unisex, right?

  8. I am totally obsessed with the ShakeIt photo app! It has made me love iPhone photos.

Also, it is probably already on your itinerary, but you might like the Kubista Museum in Prague. I was there a couple years ago, and loved the gift shop. I picked up some beautiful little boxes and vases made by Pavel Janak:

Kiwi treatment-a real stroke of genius. I'm sure it goes without saying but make certain that you've wiped the excess Kiwi off from even the most insignificant crannies! If not, it might end up adorning another piece of clothing or furniture.

  11. Brilliant find (again)! I love this photo as well. Très chic!

This is a great photo. You will love Prague! The architecture is great! The food is terrific!

If you had a chance to also get to Budapest on your trip, it's a great place to find true Bohemian fashion.

Never in a million years would I think the jacket on the AE site is the one Porter's sporting. It looks incredible and those glasses....agh those glasses are perfection!
